AFI announces development of Phase II – Cinema City, Bowling, and Ice-Rink Arena.
AFI PALACE PLOIESTI is the first and only modern Fashion Shopping Mall to be developed in Ploiesti City Centre and is scheduled to be opened on October 3rd, 2013.
Upon completion, the shopping mall will include more than 100 international and leading fashion brands spread over two floors. The mall will be designed as a single mall with a 12 meter wide skylight and anchors stretched on each side of the main corridor.
AFI Palace Ploiesti will be a fashion dedicated mall combined with unique entertainment features, where the customers will enjoy the most enjoyable shopping experience.
The total Gross Leasable Area (GLA) of Phase 1 shall be 28,800 sqm and once phase 2 is completed the GLA will come to 33,000 sqm, served by 1,000 parking spaces both underground and above ground.
Currently the mall is 90% leased with the following main Tenants.
Cora hypermarket, Flanco electronics, and top fashion brands such as H&M, New Look, Reserved, Mussete, Timeout, Collins, Nike, Aldo, Motivi, Otter, Lee Cooper, Il Passo, B&B, Jolidon ID Sarrieri, MOA, Kitchen Shop, Aldo, Smyk, Vicina, Royal Caro, Hello Kitty, Sabon, Carturesti, Jack and Jones, Braiconf, KenVelo, and a 2,200 sqm fitness club part of the “Moving” chain of clubs, with additional top brands currently under final negotiations. The shopping mall will have a wide range of food, restaurants including KFC, McDonald’s, Thang Long Vietnamese and restaurants Pizza Dominium and El Bacha Lebanese Restaurant.
Phase 2- AFI Europe Entertainment Model
In Romania AFI Europe has earned a reputation of building shopping malls where leisure & entertainment tenants are taking a major part of the scheme, in order to enhance the shopping experience and provide a wider variety of activities to the mall visitors. This is increasingly true in shopping malls in Romania and schemes located within and adjacent to City Centers
Phase 2 of the Mall will be dedicated and focused on increasing the entertainment mix of tenants.
The Cinema City Complex:
This 4,000 sqm GLA extension will include a 2,000 sqm “Cinema City” Complex, additional Entertainment tenants such as Bowling, Billiards, Coffee Shops, Casino and more.
AFI’s assumption is that due to its City Center location the Cinema will sell around 350,000 tickets per year, producing a direct positive effect on the mall’s performance and sustainability.
The Ice Rink Project:
The entertainment extension shall also include a 450 sqm “all year round” Ice rink, kids’ playground, video games and an XD theater (6D). The Ice Rink will serve the mall marketing activities when organizing shows and events, and will also have a direct positive influence on the mall tenants’ turn-over (sales) all year round.
AFI’s vision by the development of phase 2:
The investment will secure the shopping mall status as the leading shopping mall in Ploiesti by offering a larger variety of entertainment attractions to the visitors and shoppers, improving and strengthening the mall‘s tenant mix by providing more and varied entertainment attractions. The tenant mix, together with the optimal blend of fashion and entertainment, will encourage mall visitors to spend more time in the mall, resulting in an increase in the mall’s footfall and retailer’s sales.
