Andreas Madlung, born 1962 in Germany, studied Economics in Cologne. He started working in the property lending business in 1994 when he joined former RHEINHYP Rheinische Hypothekenbank AG in Frankfurt (at that time subsidiary of Commerzbank AG and property lending arm of the group). Initially he was focusing on commercial projects in the eastern part of Germany. 1997 he was appointed Head of Branch of RHEINHYP in Hamburg for commercial property lending. Starting from 2000 he joined the CEE Team and was mainly focusing on Poland. He was involved in all major transactions of former RHEINHYP in Poland. In parallel he was in charge of the implementation of the financing of residential developments in Poland as a new product of Bre Bank Hipoteczny (as well Commerzbank Group). When RHEINHYP was merged in the new EUROHYPO in 2002, the largest property lender in Europe, he remained the Senior Manager for Poland. Since January 2004 he is Head of the Polish and Russian Team, Corporate and Investment Banking International, and since mid of 2007 he is as well responsible for the Baltic States and Ukraine.
