Overview
After three years on the market, the Budapest-based property event CED-Invest HU is expanding the range of issues it covers to include a more complete look at the development process. With virtually all of the "easy" development plots already completed, investors with greater resources are now working on projects of far greater size and complexity. This requires not just a greater level of sophistication on the part of developers and architects, but far more know-how and understanding from city planners and politicians. Equally important is the necessity of each side in this process to understand the needs of the other. In an effort to promote broader discussion and understanding about this evolving market, CED-Invest HU will be divided into two separate, though related, events. The morning section is entitled Urban Development Forum, and it will consider a variety of development issues facing Budapest in three unique panels: South Budapest, the development of train stations, and the issue of high rise buildings in the Hungarian capital. Each panel will put together members of the city administration, developers and architects to promote an exchange of experience, opinions, and world views. The afternoon section will be devoted to classic CED-Invest topics, beginning with a discussion about the local residential market which will be explored both in Hungarian terms and in the context of current European trends. The second panel provides a unique opportunity for panelists and audience alike to discuss the sea change in property investing that's taken place since last summer. The final panel brings together the two parts of the day, as the subject will be the explosion of prestigious development projects in Budapest's center as well as the city's exciting new plans for the area.
