János Erős

János Erős has been the CEO of the Hungarian Development Bank Private Limited Company since 2002. His career began at the National Bank of Hungary as manager of the international department and he went on to serve UnicBank, Hargitay & Partners and Central European Securities Trading Ltd in various management positions before assuming the title of CEO at General Bank and Trust Co. Ltd, and later on, Commercial and Credit Bank Ltd. János also represented the Discount Bank and Trust Company Geneva in Budapest for a few years. He was educated at Pace University, New York, received his BA degree in Geneva at the Webster University, his MA degree at the Budapest University of Economics and earned his PhD at the University of Pécs. János chairs or is on the board of several organizations and institutions, among them the European Investment Bank (EIB), the European Association of Public Banks and Funding Agencies (EAPB), the Confederation of Hungarian Employers and Industrialists (MAGYOSZ), the Park Forestry of Pilis Ltd. and the Hungarian Fencing Federation.
