Dr. Katalin Dévald is a managing associate and head of the Linkaters real estate department in Hungary. She is an expert in real estate development projects and acquisitions, construction and financing, securities, commercial and contract law and she also has significant experience in corporate law. Katalin has recently advised Tesco on several site acquisitions and lease agreements, Inter-Continental Hotels on the sale of their real estate portfolio and Orco Property Groups, a major investor and developer throughout Central and Eastern Europe, in relation to a property acquisition and leaseback agreement and the subsequent development of the property. The client base of the practice group includes Curzon Global Partners (NATIXIS/AEW Europe), whom she has advised in relation to the due diligence process, deal structuring, sale and purchase agreement and corporate aspects for the Hungarian side of the purchase and later sale of 54 Praktiker DIY stores (10 in Hungary). She has also advised Prologis Development, Oppenheim Immobilien and Morley Residential Fund in several acquisition transactions. Katalin holds a postgraduate degree in economics and a degree in law from József Attila University School of Law, Szeged. She speaks Hungarian and English.
